Controller Consultant

About the Opportunity: We are partnering with a publicly traded biotech company to identify an experienced Controller Consultant to provide senior-level accounting leadership during a significant transition. Ideally located in PST time zoneCompensation: $110-140/HR W2Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.Scope:Partner closely with the CFO and finance team to transition accounting responsibilities from the organization's current shared-services structureProvide hands-on leadership across core accounting and Controller activities within a publicly traded company environmentSupport SEC reporting, financial statement preparation, period-end close activities, and other external reporting requirementsHelp maintain effective SOX/404 processes, internal controls, and public-company accounting compliance throughout the transitionAddress accounting matters, including accounting considerations associated with royalty-based revenue arrangementsEvaluate and enhance accounting processes to support a streamlined, primarily virtual finance organizationProvide additional accounting and finance support as priorities evolve throughout the consulting engagementQualifications & Expertise: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, required. CPA preferredExperience as a Controller or comparable senior accounting leader within a publicly traded pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences organizationStrong knowledge of SEC reporting and public-company financial reporting requirementsSolid understanding of public-company internal controls and SOX/404 complianceDemonstrated ability to operate effectively in a lean environment and personally execute detailed accounting work when requiredAbility to successfully navigate organizational change and transitions involving shared-services, outsourced, or third-party accounting resourcesRoyalty accounting experience preferredExposure to tax considerations associated with royalty or similar revenue arrangements is a plusAbout Sayva: At Sayva Solutions, our consultants are a part of the Sayva team from before a project starts and as we partner together on future opportunities.
