Superintendent

Position Overview

A well-established general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee residential and multifamily construction projects throughout Long Island and the greater New York metropolitan area .

This role is ideal for a hands-on field leader with experience managing subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety standards, and driving projects to successful completion. The company prefers candidates with ground-up construction experience but is also open to superintendents with strong residential renovation, redevelopment, or conversion project backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day field operations from project startup through closeout.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and site personnel.
• Maintain project schedules and proactively address delays or field issues.
• Ensure compliance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Lead trade coordination meetings and site logistics planning.
• Monitor project safety and enforce all OSHA, SST, and company safety requirements.
• Coordinate inspections and maintain compliance with local building regulations.
• Complete daily reports, safety documentation, and project records.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, ownership teams, and inspectors.
• Manage punch list completion and project turnover.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent.
• Experience overseeing residential and multifamily construction projects.
• Strong understanding of high-rise residential and/or block-and-plank construction.
• Ground-up construction experience strongly preferred.
• Candidates with substantial residential renovation, redevelopment, or adaptive reuse experience will also be considered.
• Ability to manage multiple trades and maintain aggressive project schedules.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with construction management and reporting software.

Preferred Qualifications

• NYC DOB Superintendent License preferred.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
• NYC SST Certification.
• Experience with condominium, apartment, mixed-use, or multifamily developments.
• Experience working in occupied buildings and managing complex renovation projects.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $150,000 - $190,000
