Job Summary

Our client is seeking Commercial Banker to join their team and the position is designed for an experienced commercial banking professional with a strong track record in commercial lending, particularly C&I and commercial real estate lending. The ideal candidate will bring an established network and client following within their respective market and have a proven ability to independently generate new business rather than relying on a portfolio provided by the bank. This role requires strong credit and deal-structuring expertise, the ability to manage complex transactions from opportunity through closing, and the judgment to operate with minimal management oversight.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong commercial banking relationships within the assigned market.
\n
• Leverage an established network and client following to generate new commercial lending opportunities.
\n
• Independently identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities rather than relying solely on an existing bank portfolio.
\n
• Develop and manage commercial lending opportunities from initial prospecting through underwriting, approval, documentation, and closing.
\n
• Structure and execute complex commercial lending transactions, including C&I and commercial real estate deals.
\n
• Analyze client financials, creditworthiness, business needs, collateral, and overall risk to develop sound lending solutions.
\n
• Prepare and present well-structured credit proposals and work effectively through the credit approval process.
\n
• Coordinate with Credit, Portfolio Management, and Executive Management to move transactions efficiently toward closing.
\n
• Communicate effectively with clients throughout the lending process and provide guidance on financing solutions.
\n
• Manage multiple transactions and relationships while maintaining strong attention to detail and sound credit judgment.
\n
• Develop meaningful, long-term relationships with business owners, executives, and commercial clients.
\n
• Take ownership of opportunities generated by Executive Management and independently manage them through successful execution.
\n
• Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and lending opportunities within the assigned market.
\n
• Ensure compliance with bank policies, lending standards, regulatory requirements, and risk-management practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

\n
• 8+ years of commercial banking and/or commercial lending experience.
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
\n
• Strong experience in C&I and commercial real estate lending.
\n
• Proven ability to bring and develop a book of business and generate new commercial relationships independently.
\n
• Strong credit analysis, underwriting, deal-structuring, and financial analysis skills.
\n
• Demonstrated experience managing complex commercial transactions from origination through closing.
\n
• Ability to independently navigate the credit process and manage transactions with minimal oversight.
\n
• Strong understanding of commercial lending products, credit risk, collateral, and transaction structures.
\n
• Proven business development and relationship-management skills.
\n
• Strong ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with business owners, executives, and commercial clients.
\n
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Credit, Portfolio Management, Executive Management, and other internal teams.
