Payroll Specialist

Payroll Specialist Location: Torrance, CA Area (Onsite) Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Opportunity We are partnering with a growing organization in the Torrance, CA area seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team. This opportunity is available due to a recent resignation and offers strong potential for permanent employment based on performance and business needs. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience processing high-volume payrolls, managing multi-state payroll tax compliance, and utilizing Ceridian Dayforce in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Process payroll for approximately 400-500 employees accurately and on time Manage both weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations Handle multi-state payroll processing and tax reporting requirements Review payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies Maintain employee payroll records and documentation Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management Partner with HR and Accounting to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information Qualifications 3+ years of payroll processing experience in a high-volume environment Multi-state payroll and payroll tax experience is required Hands‑on experience with Ceridian Dayforce is required Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities Ability to work onsite full‑time in the Torrance, CA area Benefits Potential for permanent hire.
