Chemical/Materials Engineering Co-op (Summer/Fall 2027)

Chemical/Material Summer & Fall Co-op at Collins Aerospace/RTX

This role is onsite in Rockford, IL from May/June - December 2027.

What You Will Do:

• Interpret specification requirements and communicate with Collins Operations sites and suppliers as required.
• Evaluate hardware for compliance to an engineering drawing to ensure all material and special process related requirements are met.
• Write Formal Engineering Reports to document findings
• Do short term project management and collaboration with Collins engineering teams to solve materials and process challenges.

What You Will Learn:

• Training and skill development to support RRCA and process improvement activities.
• Apply knowledge learned through academics to validate hardware and/or process conforms to related specification requirements.
• Interpret aerospace material drawings and specifications.
• Operate and interpret results from state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Materials Science or Chemical Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Proficient knowledge using Microsoft Office products.
• Currently enrolled with at least 30 credit hours earned to date toward a bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or related field from an accredited college or university.
