Avenues Recovery Center is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals recovering from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. What You'll Do

• Create individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for each client
• Conduct individual, group, family, and couples therapy sessions
• Manage a caseload and oversee clients' clinical care throughout treatment
• Assess client progress and modify treatment interventions as needed
• Provide crisis intervention, prevention, and de-escalation when necessary
• Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director, treatment team, and family members to ensure coordinated care
• Develop aftercare and discharge recommendations to support long-term recovery
• Model professionalism, integrity, accountability, dignity, and respect in every client interaction

What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
• Active state licensure or certification required to practice in this role - LCSW, LCPC, LGPC, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, ADT
• Strong clinical judgment and observational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and strict confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
• Experience working in behavioral health, mental health, addiction treatment, or residential treatment settings
• Experience facilitating group therapy

Avenues Recovery Center located in Cambridge, MD is a 100-bed residential facility offering drug and alcohol detoxification and inpatient rehabilitation services. Newly remodeled and thoughtfully designed, our facility provides clients with a welcoming environment focused on healing and recovery.

Our medical and clinical teams work collaboratively to deliver exceptional care around the clock, creating an atmosphere of hope, compassion, and support for both clients and staff.
