Employment Specialist Job Details: Location Joplin, MO 64804 – Salary $22.50 per hour. Full-time, hourly. Overview The Arc of the Ozarks invites you to join as an Employment Specialist. This role focuses on supporting individuals with disabilities to obtain and maintain employment. Responsibilities include enabling clients to perform community-based assessments, connecting them to resources, planning transportation, building and maintaining soft skills, providing ongoing coaching and retention support, and facilitating on‑site supports. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Measure consumer satisfaction and use results to improve services. Build relationships with local businesses and offer recruitment assistance. Assist in securing appropriate job matches. Utilize techniques to promote social inclusion at work. Identify and facilitate workplace supports. Use teaching strategies to train and facilitate clients. Conduct and attend planning meetings; advocate client needs. Maintain paperwork and other documentation. Supervise Job Coaches where applicable. Provide input on long‑term and fading support plans. Assist in monitoring financial stability of the program. Represent the organization in public relations activities. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of experience in human services or employment field (preferred). Valid chauffeur’s (Class E) license with good driving record, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Dependable vehicle with current liability auto insurance. Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs and to assist in lifting/transferring up to 150 lbs with two‑person lifts. Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, reach overhead. Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing assignments. Strong decision‑making, communication, problem‑solving, and public relations skills. Knowledge of the local community and strong personal network. Ability to establish effective relationships with clients, employers, families, and other stakeholders.
