Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Room team. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess critical skills in triage, telemetry, and conscious sedation.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and triage for adult patients.
• Administer IV medications and monitor patient vital signs.
• Assist in critical care situations, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and resources.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Certifications: TNCC, ACLS, NIH, MOAB, and BLS required.
• Skills in IV Start, Triage, Telemetry, and Conscious Sedation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification preferred.
• Previous experience in trauma care is a plus.

Additional Job Details

• Patient Ratios: Non-Critical 3:1; Critical Patients 2:1; Medical Boarders 5:1.
• Shift Details: 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 - 07:15.
• Contract Length: 48-hour contracts preferred but 13-week contracts are also accepted.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is mandatory.
• No call or float requirements.

Patient Population

The Emergency Room primarily serves adult patients with a variety of diagnoses including STEMI, stroke, and Level 2 trauma cases. The unit manages approximately 170 visits per day across 53 beds.

Orientation

New hires will complete a 36 to 48-hour orientation to ensure preparedness for the role.

Dress Code

Scrubs required: Navy Blue.

Interview Process

Candidates must be available for an interview within the next 72 hours to facilitate the approval process. Interviews are a prerequisite for job offers.

Additional Notes

• Electrocardiogram (EKG) testing is mandatory prior to the start.
• No block scheduling is available.
