Wellness Attendant

The Wellness Attendant is responsible for all incoming calls, all wellness rentals and corresponding receipts. The Desk Attendant is responsible for performing the essential functions as outlined in this job description. The Wellness Attendant is a part-time employee who may work no more than twenty-nine (29) hours per week. Work pace varies depending on the task required. The position of Wellness Attendant may perform duties in the medium work level (lifting 50 lbs.) infrequently.

Qualifications

The Wellness Attendant must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age and have a basic knowledge of computers. Must have current CPR/AED Adult, Child, and Infant.

Immediate Supervisor

The Wellness Attendant is under the direction of the Assistant Westwood Manager.

Essential Functions

The Wellness Attendant is responsible for: a) Answering the phone, making reservations for walk ins or over the phone, giving out correct information. b) Being familiar with all Park District programs and other pertinent information. c) Receiving payment and/or passes from each facility patron, payment processing and all receipts for said payment and sales of merchandise. d) Completing the daily cashier sheet accurately, preparing deposits and completing all necessary forms if scheduled to work during closing shift. e) All phases of clerical work are required, e.g., data entry and typing of correspondence. f) Appearance of work area. g) Always staffing the Wellness desk during shift. h) Keep accurate records of patrons for tanning, cryotherapy and other amenities i) Must follow all age requirements for all amenities j) Cleaning of all amenities in Wellness after each patron use. k) Laundry cleaned, folded and put away l) Being familiar with the District's Personnel Policy Manual. m) Adhering to established safety practices as outlined by the District's Safety Manual and/or as set forth by the Business Services Manager. n) Performing all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Westwood Manager or Westwood Facility Manager.

Marginal Functions

1. Assists all employees of the Park District where and when needed.

2. Assists with maintenance and repairs at assigned facilities.

Psychological Considerations

The Wellness Attendant may feel stress from being held responsible for their assigned area. The Wellness Attendant must work under the supervision and direction of superiors and communicate effectively with patrons and must resolve differences and problems that may arise with patrons and/or employees. The Wellness Attendant may feel stress of having to work with the computer system on a daily basis.

Environmental Considerations

All activities are performed indoors, and those conditions include lighting and temperature.

Cognitive Considerations

The Wellness Attendant must be able to follow directions from their superior with safe follow through, must exhibit good problem-solving ability and must use good safety awareness.

Recommendations for Accommodations

1. Workers are allowed and encouraged to use mechanical or manual assistance for lifting over fifty (50) lbs. as a guideline. Working in teams will also allow workers to have assistance with heavier equipment.

2. Other situations requiring accommodations would need to be analyzed more specifically.

3. Employees are allowed and encouraged to use available adjustments for the computer keyboard and screen.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $15.00/hour. Part-time employees with certain restrictions, are entitled to free use of District facilities during public hours.
