Company without sponsorshipPOSITIONSUMMARY: We are looking for an Aerospace Structures & Thermal Engineer with 3+ years of experience to design, analyze, and deliver flight hardware that can survive the extreme demands of spaceflight. We are building the next generation of space manufacturing infrastructure — and this person will be the one answering the critical question: will this vehicle survive? You'll own structural and thermal analyses from early concept through flight, drive mass reduction efforts, select materials, and work hands-on with hardware in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment. This is a rare opportunity to have your fingerprints on actual flight systems at a company pioneering the next industrial revolution.What will you be doing?Design primary structures, load paths, internal supports, and hard points — and lead efforts to reduce mass, simplify manufacturing, and maintain structural marginsPerform structural and thermal analyses (FEA, thermal modeling, margin calculations) using tools like ANSYS to validate hardware will survive flight environmentsSelect and evaluate materials — including composites, ablatives, and thermal barrier systems — for high-temperature and extreme aerospace environmentsDevelop and execute qualification test plans covering structural, thermal, vibration, and environmental testing through to flight certificationCollaborate closely with the vehicle design, GNC, systems engineering, and manufacturing teams to deliver integrated, flight-ready hardwareTech stackANSYS, Nastran, Abaqus, Python, MATLAB, CADResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deliver aerospace structures, thermal systems, and flight hardwareOwn structural and thermal analyses throughout the development lifecycleDevelop and evaluate vehicle architectures, material selections, and design tradesPerform structural sizing, stress analysis, thermal modeling, and margin assessmentsSupport the development of high-temperature systems and thermal protection approachesDesign components, assemblies, mechanisms, and integrated vehicle structuresDevelop qualification, environmental, thermal, vibration, and structural test plansWork closely with systems, avionics, software, GNC, manufacturing, and mission operations teamsSupport supplier selection, manufacturing oversight, hardware integration, and production planningParticipate in design reviews, technical decision-making, anomaly investigations, and post-flight assessmentsContribute to engineering processes, design standards, and future vehicle development efforts
