Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. They coordinate and support surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes through comprehensive perioperative care.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to procedure requirements.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and anesthesia levels throughout surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams with the sterilization, handling, and passing of instruments and supplies.
• Document patient care activities, surgical details, and intraoperative observations accurately.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols.
• Respond promptly to intraoperative emergencies or complications, providing appropriate interventions.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current certification in good standing.
• Proven experience in perioperative nursing or surgical services preferred.
• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical procedures, and patient safety standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
