The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking a qualified individual as a Tutoring Center Specialist. The Incumbent under the direction of an assigned supervisor, coordinate operations of, and perform specialized duties related to tutoring and assistance within learning centers in support of a diverse student community, sponsors and governmental agencies on a daily basis. AT-A-GLANCE POSITION INFORMATION:

***This recruitment will establish an eligibility list valid for 6 months, and will be used to fill two (2) current vacancies and future vacancies. One vacancy is available at each campus: Grossmont and Cuyamaca College.*** Type of position: Full-Time Current Vacancy: Grossmont College and Cuyamaca College Grossmont College: Monday - Thursday from 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm, Fridays from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Cuyamaca College: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Hours may shift depending on department needs. This position is a floating position and will support multiple (3) tutoring centers. Salary: Range CL-32

• 25.41 - $31.79 Hourly
• 4,405 - $5,510 Monthly (based on 40 hours per week)

Initial Salary Placement: New employees start at Step A ($25.41 per hour) or B ($26.88 per hour) on the salary schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Any combination equivalent to an Associate's Degree in area of assignment, office management/coordination, or related field,

EXPERIENCE:

Two years increasingly responsible experience in tutoring or learning assistance center coordination or other complex office environments

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

VETERAN'S POINTS:

Veterans not previously employed by the District, with 30 days or more of military service who become eligible for appointment by attaining the passing mark established for the examination, shall be allowed an additional credit of five (5) points and disabled veterans shall be allowed an additional credit of ten (10) points, which shall be added to the percentages attained in the examinations by the veterans. Any applicant who claims veteran's credit must submit Form DD 214 at the time the employment application is submitted. Failure to submit Form DD 214 at the time of application shall result in no veteran's credits being considered or added to any passing score.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS:

The assessment process for this position may include any combination of the following: An application screening for initial qualifications Supplemental training and experience screening, documentation(s)/ certification(s) screening Written assessment (Written assessments contain proprietary content and are in-person only and cannot be completed remotely.) Performance assessment (Performance assessments are conducted in-person at the same time as the written assessment.) Oral assessment (Oral assessments are conducted over Zoom. If you lack reliable computer or internet connectivity, accommodations will be provided in the Personnel Commission office for your participation.) The District reserves the right to utilize a flexible pass point (cut-off) on any test part to meet the staffing needs as determined by the District. If you participate in and fail any assessment segment, you must wait a period of 90 days (approximately 3 months) to apply/test again for the same classification during a posted recruitment.
