About the Team The AI & Data Platform team builds the foundation that powers all data and machine learning at Quizlet. Our focus is on creating scalable, reliable, and efficient systems that enable teams across the company to develop and deploy high-impact, AI-driven products. About the Role Data Platform Engineers are hired across multiple levels (Staff – Principal Engineer). In this role you’ll design and build the infrastructure that supports large‑scale data processing and machine learning workflows. You’ll partner closely with Data Science, ML Engineering, and Product teams to deliver systems that are reliable, scalable, and easy to use. Success is measured by platform reliability, developer experience, and adoption across teams. This is an onsite position in Denver, San Francisco, Seattle, or NYC. Employees must be in the office a minimum of three days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) and as needed by the manager or the company. Responsibilities Build and maintain data and ML infrastructure to support model training, deployment, and monitoring. Design scalable data pipelines and systems (batch and real‑time). Improve platform usability, tooling, and developer efficiency. Drive reliability, observability, and automation across the platform. Partner cross‑functionally to define and deliver data solutions. Contribute to technical design, code quality, and best practices. Qualifications Experience building and operating data or ML platforms in production. Strong background in distributed systems, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with tools such as Airflow, dbt, GCP, Kubernetes, or similar.
