To learn how to apply for a faculty or staff position, please review this .The Electrician, Licensed performs building maintenance and repair work, and responds to the corrective needs of electrical equipment, and system components.**CORE JOB FUNCTIONS*** Test emergency generators, and conditioning and heating systems.* Maintains and repairs circulator and sump pumps, refrigeration units, fans, and other electrical equipment.* Installs lighting fixtures and other electrical apparatus.* Test circuits for continuity and overloading.* Conducts fire alarm tests and participates in the movement and installation of machinery and equipment.* Evaluates equipment performance using instruments, such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.* Works from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring and equipment.* Maintains records, prepares reports, and orders supplies and equipment.* Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.***This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.*** **CORE QUALIFICATIONS****Education:** High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license **Experience:** Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required **Certification and Licensing:** Valid license from Miami Dade County | Valid State of Florida Driver’s License required Refer to the department description for applicable certification requirements **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*** Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.* Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.* Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.* Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.*This is a core job profile description and is not reflective of all duties that may be assigned to a specific position in each individual department.
