Logistic Coordinator

Connect Staffing is hiring a Logistics / Fleet Coordinator for a warehouse operation in Houston, TX. This is a temp-to-hire position paying $25-$30/hr. In this role, you will track vehicles, trailers, and freight using Microsoft Excel and Samsara GPS, and coordinate shipments and deliveries with drivers, carriers, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets to track vehicles, trailers, equipment, and freight status.
• Monitor fleet and equipment locations in real time using Samsara or similar GPS/fleet-management software.
• Communicate with drivers, carriers, and customers to confirm pickup and delivery schedules.
• Enter shipment data and update records as loads are dispatched, in transit, or delivered.
• Identify and escalate delays, route issues, or equipment problems to the appropriate team.
• Support multiple active shipments simultaneously, adjusting priorities as conditions change.

Minimum Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, fleet coordination, or a related role.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel - ability to build, maintain, and update tracking spreadsheets accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Samsara or another GPS/fleet-management system (e.g., Verizon Connect, Motive, Omnitracs).
• Experience tracking vehicles, trailers, or heavy equipment across multiple locations.
• Background working with trucking companies, freight brokers, or transportation carriers.
• Experience coordinating logistics for storm response, emergency operations, disaster recovery, or temporary jobsite support.
• Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) or dispatch software.
• Strong data-entry accuracy and comfort managing high volumes of shipment records.
