GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:This position is responsible for the materials control function of performing daily tasks concerning products through all operations Flat Products, inventory, and to assure prompt and efficient flow of material. This role will follow plans as laid out by Planners, Supervisors, or Managers part of the planning team.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Order Inquiries a. Must be able to understand current order status and lead times and communicate effectively with inside sales2. Program to linesa. Will keep in contact with operations to ensure all priorities are being processed at lines in a timely manner b. Distribute material to the lines as directed by Planners/Supervisors/Managersc. Assigns material to open orders taking into consideration order quantities, customer requirements and on time delivery3. Retention/AQNS a. Release retentions based on solutions provided or after proper review b. Enter ANQS's as needed in order to have material reviewed or held 4. Stock a. Continually reviews stock to determine if material can be used for new open orders. Follows up possibilities with sales. 5. Regularly reviews all material processed at Cold Mill to ensure a smooth continual flow and also to ensure the correct lots are being produced and packaged6. Supports projects as needed from Level 8 Planners/Supervisors/Managers7. Knows how to find and follow all pertinent job related work instructions per ISO 90008. Lotting slabs/coilsa. Able to find/run/print lots to cover report for lotting needs b. Follow MS Planner's plan for covering open needsc. Follow solutions for customer specific needs as given by AQNS solutionsd. Route matl based on current standards/needs, identify to QC lots that are missing routings9. Matching/Shipping Bills a. Regularly throughout the shift, match coils that have been solutioned. Move coils with quality not to customer needs to other less critical ordersb. Building shipping bills regularly throughout shift and as requestedSUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Other duties as assigned2. Participation in relevant continuous improvement programs.MINIMUM EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:1. Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalence2. Knowledge of material defects a plus 3. Knowledge of AS-400 application and moderate speed on the keyboard preferredPHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:• Mobility in plant• While performing the duties of (this job), the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, etc.• The employee is frequently required to make use of their hands for technical tasks• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds• Visual ability with or without correction• Communication abilitiesHEALTH AND SAFETY:1. Report to the Safety Coordinator, Group Lead or Supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations or Company policy6. Must follow all Lock out Tag out (LOTO) guidelines for designated machines7. Must follow all Environmental Policies and Regulations8. Maintain a clean and safe work areaWORK ENVIRONMENT:1.
