OSP Field Construction Manager — Central Alabama Compensation : $65,000–$85,000/year + company vehicle + bonus + full benefit sJob Type : Full-Tim e We are seeking a Field Construction Manag er to lead the successful execution of a growin g outside plant (OSP) fiber netwo rk throughout the Central Alabama marke t.This is a hands-on leadership ro le responsible for overseeing field execution, contractor performance, quality control, safety, and team development. The ideal candidate will have strong experience i n telecommunications OSP constructi on and the ability to turn engineering designs int o safe, high-quality, operational fiber infrastructu r e. Key Responsibilit iesConstruction & Field Execut ionDirect and oversee the installation of OSP fiber facilit ies, includi ng aerial, underground, and buried pl antCoordinate daily field activities wi th Project Managers, construction contractors, splicing teams, and locate vend orsEnsure construction and splicing activities are complet ed safely, accurately, on schedule, and within bud getReview and distribu te splicing diagrams and construction packa ges to contract orsAssist contractors wi th complex builds, design clarifications, and field-based issue resolut ion Safety, Quality & Compli anceOversee safety for all field construction activities and ensure compliance w ith company standards and regulatory requirem entsPerf orm quality control inspect ions across various plant types and construction met hodsEnsure adherence to applica ble RUS and NEC c odes related to OSP construction and mainten anceIdentify construction defects, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring is sues Leadership & People Manag ementLead, coach, and dev elop Construction Engineers, Construction Leaders, Construction Assistants, and assigned contra ctorsConduct skills assessments and identify training needs to improve team perfor manceSet clear expectations, drive accountability, and motivate teams to exceed performance goalsRecommend personnel actions, inclu ding promotions, disciplinary actions, and pay adjust ments, as approp riateComplete timely performance evaluations using measurable, objective cri teriaEnsure onboarding, training, and ongoing development plans are in place for direct re ports Operational Improvement & Rep ortingEvalu e new OSP products, construction methods, and d esigns for potential implemen tation Track field progress, quality metrics, safety incidents, and contractor perfo rmanceProvide weekly status reports t o the Di rector, including risks, issues, and mitigation plansSupport additional operational initiatives as needed Required Qualifi cations4+ years of hands-on telecommunications OSP construction exp erience, including installation, repair, and main tenanceStrong working knowle dge of fiber construction methods and outside plant infrast ructureProficienc y with Microsoft Office, particularl y ExcelAbility to na vigate HES systems used to track service orders, trouble tickets, and facility recordsWorking knowle dge of RUS and NE C codes applicable to OSP const ructionValid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned markets Preferred Qualif icatio nsPrior team lead or supervisory ex perience in OSP construction and mai ntenanceExperience m anaging multiple contractors and field crews simult aneouslyStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, field-based d #J-18808-Ljbffr Swoon
