Job Title

Travel RN – Medical Surgical Telemetry (13-Week Contract)

Contract | Travel | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13 Weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 47-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with patient ratios of 1:5, with the ability to flex to 1:6
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, identifying and responding to arrhythmias and cardiac changes
• Care for patients with conditions including vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, general surgery, peripheral vascular disease, sepsis, GI bleeds, and chest tubes
• Operate unit equipment including Pyxis, Alaris Pumps, Bladder Scanners, EKGs, Atrium Chest Tubes, Dinamaps, and Vein Finders
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR
• Float to similar Med-Surg units or other areas of the facility as needed for patient overflow, maintaining the same patient types

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current BLS certification required
• Demonstrated telemetry experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with surgical bariatrics
• Cardiac nursing experience
• Vascular surgery experience
• Wound VAC and complex dressing change experience
