Essential Functions Oversees inspection and testing activities for one or more projects Provides oversight and develops skills of inspection staff Inputs data into pre-written computer programs Operates computer systems to run reports or calculations Interprets construction plans and specifications Observes construction operations to assess conformance to plans and specifications Performs construction materials testing, develops budget estimates and proposals Provides clear written documentation of activities and site conditions Communicates effectively with staff, contractors, and clients Works independently, managing staff on projects regularly Identifies issues, determines solutions, and implements steps Participates in training and maintains relevant certifications Documents work and expenses in the company system Seeks increased responsibilities and collaborates with management Trains technicians and leads improvement initiatives Maintains client relationships and develops new business opportunities This position may have direct reports Qualifications Experience 8+ years in construction inspection or trades Experience with public agencies or consulting firms is a plus Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Effective communication at all levels Exceptional customer service skills Time management and self-starting ability Reliable vehicle for site travel Physical requirements: lifting up to 50 lbs, walking stairs, flexible hours, travel including nights, outdoor conditions Education High School diploma or GED KDOT Inspection certification Additional experience in engineering or construction management is advantageous #J-18808-Ljbffr
