Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room - Nights 7P-7A

Overview Join our dedicated nursing team at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, VA. We are seeking motivated Registered Nurses to provide high-quality, patient‑centered care in our Emergency Department (ED). The position is a full‑time night shift (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.) and involves caring for a diverse and rapidly evolving patient population. Location & Shift City/State: Suffolk, VA Work Shift: Third (Nights) About the Hospital Sentara Obici Hospital is a 175‑bed, full‑service community hospital known for compassionate care, advanced services, and strong teamwork. It serves the Suffolk community and offers a supportive work environment. About the Unit The Emergency Department has 37 beds, including a dedicated 5‑bed Behavioral Health Safe Suite. With over 53,000 annual visits (≈150 per day), staff perform advanced trauma care, triage, and rapid response. Responsibilities Deliver nursing care to patients presenting with a broad range of medical conditions and injuries. Apply the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation, coordination of care). Perform clinical tasks per EHR documentation and nursing standards. Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team to ensure rapid, effective treatment. Provide health promotion, education, and culturally appropriate care. Qualifications Required: RN license in Virginia or Compact Multi‑State; BLS within 90 days of hire; ACLS and PALS (or ENPC) within one year. Preferred: BSN or MSN; minimum 6 months of acute care RN experience in Emergency, ICU, IMCU, or recovery room.
