Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a minimum of one year of experience and proficiency with advanced cardiac support devices including Impella, IABP, and ECMO.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of an acute care hospital setting
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• 13-week contract
• Proficiency with Impella, IABP (intra-aortic balloon pump), CRRT, and ECMO required
• Post open-heart surgery day 2 care is part of the patient caseload
• Heart recovery patients are a key component of this unit's population

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license) currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — no other issuing bodies accepted
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Hands-on experience with Impella, balloon pump (IABP), and heart recovery required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of critically ill cardiovascular patients
• Monitors and responds to physiological data; administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders
• Communicates care plans and discharge information to patients and families
• Delegates appropriately to support staff
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may only extend once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before returning for another contract
• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
