Dyslexia Special Education Teacher | Galveston, Texas

Job Description

Step into a rewarding role providing vital support for K-12 students in need of targeted dyslexia intervention! This full-time contract opportunity will immerse you in the dynamic school environment from August 11, 2026, through May 27, 2027. You’ll work across multiple school sites, impacting a diverse student population and ensuring that learners receive the specialized assistance they deserve.

Your expertise in special education and dyslexia instruction will shine as you deliver individualized academic strategies, offer emotional support, and manage your caseload with care. This position empowers you to collaborate with educators and families, make a difference in students’ progress, and help them grow both academically and personally.

Desired Qualifications:

Certified Texas Special Education Teacher
Texas Dyslexia Teacher Certification
Proven experience working with K-12 students, preferably in a special education or dyslexia-focused role
Strong communication skills for engaging students, collaborating with colleagues, and connecting with families
Flexible approach, able to navigate multiple school sites and adapt to evolving student needs

Key Responsibilities:

Provide targeted academic intervention and instructional support for students with dyslexia
Address emotional and behavioral needs through supportive interactions
Manage case files, progress reports, and required documentation for assigned students
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective IEPs and intervention strategies
Offer insights and resources to staff and parents, fostering a connected support network
