Machinist (Manual and CNC)

This role focuses on operating, setting up, and programming manual and CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and Swiss-style equipment. You will work with tight tolerances, perform precision measurements, and support high-quality machining for demanding applications such as aerospace and medical device components.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual and CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and Swiss-style equipment, to produce precision components.
  • Set up machines for production runs, including tooling, workholding, and program loading for a defined range of jobs.
  • Perform programming updates at the machine to optimize processes and ensure accurate part production.
  • Maintain tight tolerances in machining operations, particularly for aerospace and medical device applications.
  • Conduct basic and advanced quality checks using a wide range of precision measuring tools to verify part conformance.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues such as dimensional deviations, surface finish problems, and tooling wear.

Work Environment

This position is based in a production machining environment that utilizes manual and CNC mills, lathes, and Swiss-style machines to produce high-precision components. You will work on a weekend shift, either 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., for a total of 36 hours while being paid for 40 hours. The facility emphasizes precision measurement and quality control, with frequent use of a wide range of measuring tools. The environment follows standard manufacturing safety practices and procedures, with a focus on consistency, accuracy, and reliable equipment operation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
