Software Engineer

Software EngineerOur client, a New York based capital management firm, is seeking a software engineer to join their team! We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Engineer with experience in Java Spring Boot, React, Python and AI/LLM technologies. This individual will join a small but rapidly growing technology team and work closely with the business to design and implement asset management systems, build and deploy AI agents and automated workflows that support our portfolio management, operations and finance teams.This role offers full exposure to the software development lifecycle from application design and data modeling to development, deployment, and support. You will also gain deep insight into the alternative asset management business, enabling you to understand not only what you are building, but why it matters and how it drives value. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop internal portfolio management systems for positions, transactions, analytics, reporting & other tools for alternative asset managementBuild scalable applications using microservices and/or event-driven architecturesParticipate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and supportIdentify automation opportunities and deploy AI-powered tools across the firm to improve operational efficiencyWork autonomously across multiple projects in a fast-paced, small-team environmentRequired Qualifications1-4+ years of software engineering experience with strong Java, React, Python, AI stack (e.g., Anthropic/OpenAI/Gemini APIs, LangChain/LangGraph, CrewAI)Strong foundation in object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and multithreadingExperience with Java Spring Boot, RESTful APIs and microservices architectureHands-on experience building with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI or similar)Experience building AI agents or automated pipelinesFamiliarity with API integrations and data pipeline constructionFamiliarity with source control systems (e.g., Git), testing frameworks, and CI/CD toolsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsSelf-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and a track record of delivering resultsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Linux/Unix environments and scriptingCloud experience (Azure, AWS, GCP)Experience with AI agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAIExperience with data platforms such as Databricks or SnowflakeEducationBachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM disciplinePlease submit your resume for consideration!
