Job Description Salary Range: $8.25 – $12.70 per hour Purpose: To check out customer purchases and otherwise assist customers, meeting objectives for accuracy and providing prompt, friendly, courteous customer service. Status: Reports to Front End Manager, Part Time Responsibilities: Greet customers with a smile, making eye contact. Check out purchases quickly and accurately, using correct PLU codes and department tags. Bag purchases as needed and offer assistance; call for staff or member-worker help if necessary. Become familiar with co‑op policies to answer customer questions; refer unresolved issues to Information Desk or Manager on Duty. Explain membership program; receive membership applications and equity payments when the Information Desk is not staffed. Open and close registers following established procedures; balance cash drawer at shift end. Maintain the checkout area in a clean, orderly condition. Qualifications Experience serving the public. Familiarity with natural foods. Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple demands and stay calm. Ability to project an outgoing, friendly personality.
