CHIEF BUILDING ENGINEER - 2ND SHIFT

ESFM Position Title Chief Building Engineer – 2nd Shift Schedule Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM Salary $115,000 – $120,000 Pay Grade 16 Other Compensation Bonus Job Summary The Chief Building Engineer serves as the on‑site engineering leader with full accountability for the delivery of Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) services, including hard services, critical infrastructure, and advanced liquid‑cooling systems supporting high‑density compute environments. This role provides technical leadership, team management, and operational oversight to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility performance. Key Responsibilities Oversee the safety of all operating equipment within the facility Develop and train all staff in plant and emergency procedures Handle the procurement of all repair parts for routine preventative and emergency repairs Develop and maintain relationships with vendors Develop a plant‑wide preventive maintenance schedule for all building, process equipment, and plant utilities Maintain the departmental budget with focus on parts, supplies and labor management Assure compliance with all wastewater and emissions standards Oversee outside contractors in the repairs and upkeep of plant equipment Be available for off‑site plant startups and special projects Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent military experience Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong multi‑tasking and prioritization abilities Organized and adaptable in a changing environment Initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership Capable of reading electrical schematics, mechanical and plumbing blueprints Proficient in Windows‑based office software (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Good working knowledge of all aspects of plant maintenance including electrical, boilers, hydraulics, compressed air, mechanical equipment Benefits Medical Dental Vision Life Insurance/AD Disability Insurance Retirement Plan Paid Time Off Holiday Time Off (varies by site/state) Associate Shopping Program Health and Wellness Programs Discount Marketplace Identity Theft Protection Pet Insurance Commuter Benefits Employee Assistance Program Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) Paid Parental Leave Personal Leave EEO Statement Compass Group is an equal‑opportunity employer.
