Role Description

The Nurse Practitioner is a full-time, on-site role based at Oakridge Medical Center in Plano, TX. This role involves providing direct patient care, including conducting comprehensive assessments, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing appropriate treatments. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate closely with physicians and other clinical team members to deliver coordinated care, support preventive health initiatives, and contribute to chronic disease management programs. Daily responsibilities also include patient education, documentation in electronic health records, participation in quality improvement efforts, and adherence to clinical protocols and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Clinical care competencies: Strong skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
• Diagnostic and technical skills: Ability to order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests; familiarity with advanced diagnostics and use of electronic health records.
• Communication and collaboration: Excellent interpersonal, patient education, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
• Organizational and workflow skills: Capacity to manage a varied patient caseload, prioritize tasks, and work effectively within streamlined clinical processes.
• Licensure and education: Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program; current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas; national board certification (e.g., FNP, AGNP) preferred.
• Experience: Prior experience in primary care, urgent care, or a similar outpatient setting is highly beneficial; experience managing chronic conditions and preventive care programs is a plus.
