Sr Cyber Security Automation Engineer

Salary: $150,000 - 190,000 per year Requirements:

• We hold a masters or bachelors degree in Information & Computer Science, Statistics, or another quantitative science discipline.
• We have demonstrated experience developing automation solutions for cyber security.
• We bring at least 5 years of information technology experience.
• We have at least 4 years of cyber security experience.
• We have 2+ years of experience with a SOAR platform such as Splunk SOAR, Sentinel, or Swimlane.
• We have 4+ years of Python development experience.
• We have a strong command of Python.
• We are familiar with Bash and PowerShell scripting.
• We have experience working with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• We have hands-on experience building solutions with OpenAI or other large language models.
• We understand software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing methods.
• We have a strong grasp of IT security principles and experience automating information security workflows.
• We are proficient in GitHub for version control, collaboration, and repository management.
• We are familiar with CI/CD practices and tools such as GitHub Actions.
• We understand infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• We communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• We are organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and strong at time management.
• We work well in an agile team environment.

• We partner with SOC, Insider Risk, DLP, Red Team, Threat Intelligence, and other security teams to design, deliver, and maintain efficient, reusable, and dependable automations.
• We own the full lifecycle of automation playbooks, from gathering requirements and planning through design, testing, implementation, and ongoing support.
• We lead efforts to identify automation opportunities, gain stakeholder support, roll out solutions, and measure the productivity gains achieved.
• We use large language models to uncover use cases that can amplify analysts incident response work and automate actions where possible.
• We collaborate with the detection team to create end-to-end solutions with automated feedback loops that improve tuning, enrich data, and support complex detections.
• We broaden our automation capabilities to support all security functions.
• We perform quality assurance checks on automations to reduce defects and drive continuous improvement.
• We promote standardization where it adds value.
