PreMake Ready Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The person who occupies this position is responsible for setting up jobs on the Bobst Presses, which involves building blankers and strippers, aligning business operations and the Finishing Department, and exceeding customer expectations while aligning with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Set up the stripper, taping vinyl on the pre‑make ready table and adjusting pins to ensure 100% stripping. Cut wood blocks as needed for the job if they are not supplied already cut. Set up the blanker, taping vinyl to the pre‑make ready table and affixing blocks accurately for high‑speed blanking. Store vinyl and maintain proper inventory control through the job number. Assist the lead person or press operators when required. Perform general housekeeping as needed. Background / Experience / Skills Manufacturing experience preferred. Must be flexible: able to work other shifts, overtime and Saturdays when needed. Must be able to speak, read and write English. Must have mechanical aptitude. Schedule Requirements Schedules up to 8‑ or 12‑hour shifts on alternate days with rotating weekends off; must accommodate alternate schedules, overtime, early mornings, nights and/or weekends and be punctual. Some departments/jobs may run an M‑F 8‑hour shift schedule. Must be willing and able to work overtime. Physical Requirements Sitting or standing, depending on assignment, for extended periods. Awkward and/or repetitive movements. Physical and visual activities commonly associated with the functions of this job: Standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing frames into chases, pulling frames, stooping to make adjustments, visual acuity (near). Physical demands commonly associated with the functions of this job: Assisting press operators requires the ability to load frames weighing approximately 150 lbs. into the cutting press. Pulling frames from the chase or machine by hand; frames weigh approximately 50‑70 lbs. Lifting empty pallets weighing 25‑40 lbs. each and placing them at the end of the press. Working in conditions of extremes of heat (seasonal), humidity, noise, hazards and dust. Use of machines, tools, equipment and software: Bobst Cutting Press, electric hand truck, screwdriver, grinders, drill, welding equipment and other various tools. Report to the person of authority any potentially unsafe conditions that may result in unsafe foods or non‑compliance with SQF procedures. Participate in SQF root‑cause and corrective actions from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation and verification activities as required. Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to the person of authority to record, correct the situation or perform corrective actions.
