This full-time itinerant position serves multiple sites across Bond, Fayette, and Montgomery counties, bringing expertise and support directly to students who need it most. Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (DHH) or substantial progress toward one
- Experience serving K-12 students in educational settings
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and specialized instructional strategies for DHH learners
- Strong communication and organization skills for effective collaboration across sites
- Ability to travel between locations as an itinerant educator (mileage reimbursement available)
- Passion for fostering student growth and ensuring accessibility for diverse learning needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in various school settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
- Participate in IEP development, meetings, and implementation for each student
- Develop, adapt, and deliver individualized lessons to meet unique communication and learning needs
- Travel between assigned schools to serve caseload as required; flexibility in scheduling hours
- Stay updated on best practices and new research within DHH education
