Structural (Bridge) Engineer

Job Description Dewberry is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineer to join our structures department in our Virginia offices. The successful candidate will be part of a team designing simple and complex bridges (primarily concrete and steel construction) and a variety of transportation‑related structures such as retaining walls, culverts and other ancillary structures. The candidate will be involved in the development of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be part of a team designing bridges and transportation‑related structures and will participate in the development and preparation of Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) packages. Required Skills & Experience BS in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural engineering required; MS preferred. 5+ years of progressive experience working on structural and bridge engineering projects. Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred or ability to obtain within 1‑2 years. Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications; experience with VDOT and/or MD SHA standards preferred. Knowledge of OpenBridge Designer, Leap Bridge Concrete, CSiBridge, and/or similar analysis programs preferred. Proficiency using CADD (Microstation preferred). Strong written and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills and desire to deliver the highest quality projects to our clients. Desire to work in a team environment. Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
