Contract | Full-Time | Days | 12-hour shifts (0700–1930), with night shift availability (1900–0730) | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on a Medical-Surgical unit managing a patient population that includes pneumonia, heart failure, sepsis, COPD, urologic conditions, surgical cases, total joints, general surgery, and occasional pediatric respiratory illness
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 on days, collaborating closely with Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) through structured touchpoints three times per shift to ensure completion of foley care, CHG bathing, and oral cares
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring systems, supported by virtual central telemetry monitoring
• Coordinate plan-of-care communication with PCT staff and interdisciplinary team members each shift
• Maintain active BLS and ACLS certifications throughout the duration of the assignment
• May be required to float to the ICU for general acute overflow patients or to a campus approximately 25 miles away based on staffing need, with at least 2 hours advance notice provided for off-site float assignments

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen prior to placement
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the standard contract rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical RN experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• PALS certification preferred
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and familiarity with Phillips monitoring systems a plus
