Defense Litigation Attorney

My client, a well-established, mid-sized law firm in Uniondale, NY, that specializes in defense litigation and primarily serves clients within the insurance industry. They are seeking a skilled Litigation Associate to join their dynamic and collaborative team.

The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in civil and commercial litigation, with a particular focus on liability defense. This role offers the opportunity to manage cases end-to-end and gain exposure across all phases of litigation in both New York State and Federal Courts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of liability defense matters from inception through resolution
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
• Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members
• Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active admission to the New York State Bar
• 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in liability defense
• Strong analytical, research, and litigation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
