About the Position

Job Title: Dialysis RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Dialysis Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Variable Days/Eves - Monday to Saturday Hours per Shift: 8, 10, 12 hours Experience: 1 year(s) License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Chronic dialysis experience. Willingness to read water room and use bicarb mixer. Description: Department: Outpatient Dialysis. No clinical involvement. Must be willing to pick up shifts when needed. A minimum of 36 hours will be guaranteed, with the expectation to cover for sick calls or family emergencies as part of teamwork. The unit operates with 7 licensed chairs, organized into pods with 3 and 4 patients. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:3-4. Common patient demographics include adults to geriatrics with a mixture of catheters and fistulas. Experience with medications such as Heparin, Hep B vaccine, Flu Vaccine, Zemplar, Ferleccit, cinacalcet, midodrine, and darbepoetin alfa is preferred. The equipment utilized includes Fresenius 2008T, with electronic medical records managed through Clarity. Shifts are varied, with rotating weekends and every other holiday required. Minimum staffing includes two nurses present at all times, with three during shift changes for equipment turnover. There are no call or standby requirements for this position. Any color scrubs are acceptable. Attributes that contribute to success in this role include teamwork, motivation, compassionate care, patient safety, and attention to infection control. A radius rule of 50 miles applies for candidates. All requests for time off must be declared upfront; additional requests will not be approved after submissions. Cancellation policy allows for shifting up to 4 shifts within the assignment period. This role operates within a post-acute care setting.
