HVAC Equipment Account Executive

Job Overview HVAC Equipment Account Executive – responsible for the sale of Johnson Controls HVAC Equipment offerings to mechanical contractors, designers, consulting engineers, and owners. The role focuses on promoting Johnson Controls value proposition, building long‑term customer relationships, and positioning renewable service agreements within assigned accounts. This position is based in Cincinnati. Candidates must be local to this territory or able to relocate. Responsibilities Sell Johnson Controls HVAC equipment and building controls offerings persuasively and confidently to contractors, consultants, and designers. Manage multiple, ongoing opportunities, including renewals and expansions of renewable service agreements, within a high‑activity pipeline in the managed CRM system. Build and maintain partnering relationships with owners and the construction community to drive sales of Johnson Controls solutions. Actively listen, probe, and identify customer concerns, understand the customer’s business cycle, and maintain a high level of credibility. Qualify and assess potential customers, addressing their operational and environmental objectives. Recommend solutions, link customer objectives to total value, and close sales through negotiation and presentation of proposals. Differentiates Johnson Controls services and products from competitors using creativity, ingenuity, and a value‑added sales approach. Collaborate with operations partners to ensure customer satisfaction, loyalty, and optimal service delivery. Support the branch Controls sales team in promoting and selling Building Controls offerings. Participate in final project inspections, ensuring customers are trained and oriented to system operation and the value of services delivered. Qualifications Multiple years of experience in the Cincinnati construction industry. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Distribution, or a related discipline. Commitment to a high level of integrity, highly motivated, with drive and initiative. Preferred experience in the commercial HVAC industry. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Compensation & Benefits Base salary range: $72,000 (subject to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities).
