Family Medicine Physicians Job Duties: Diagnose and provide nonsurgical treatment of diseases and injuries for children and adults. Develop a plan of care for each patient, including complete medical history, physician examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral. Confer with consulting physicians, nurses, patients and patients' families concerning treatment and care of patients. Refer cases that require specialist services but maintain responsibility, assuring continuity of care is provided.
