Registered Respiratory TherapistUnder the general direction of a physician and by prescription, the Registered Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory therapy services and life support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. Responsibilities are performed across all patient populations and service areas.ResponsibilitiesReads prescriptions, measures arterial blood gases, and reviews patient information to assess patient condition and determine treatment requirements.Determines the most suitable method for administering inhalants and modifications needed based on physician's orders.Evaluates the appropriateness of medical orders, interprets clinical data, and optimizes patient clinical objectives.Sets up and operates devices including mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, and aerosol generators.Monitors and adjusts equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment are met.Observes and records patients' physiological responses to therapy, including vital signs and blood gas changes.Performs bronchopulmonary drainage, assists patients with breathing exercises, and conducts pulmonary function tests.Consults with physicians in the event of adverse reactions and maintains accurate patient charts.Assists in the transport of mechanically ventilated patients and responds to code situations.Performs other duties as assigned.ScheduleThis position involves a night shift schedule of 12 hours, working 3 days a week.Required Experience / Certifications / LicensureGraduate of a Co ARC approved Respiratory program.A minimum of 2 years of experience is required.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Registered Respiratory Therapist (RTT) certification.NRP certification may be required for certain facilities.State Licenses (PA, NY, MD, etc.) as applicable.Why ARMStaffing?At ARMStaffing, we take care of our employees!
