Paramedic (Aurora)

Overview Pay: $30.00 - $33.50 per hour (DOE). Annual Compensation: $68,640 - $76,648. Job Type: Full Time. Falck Rocky Mountain is hiring Paramedics. Responsibilities The primary responsibility of the Paramedic (EMT-P) is to provide ongoing care through established pre-hospital processes, the environment, instrumentation, other health care team members, and interacting agencies. The primary objective is to provide safe and expedient response to emergent and non-emergent calls where patient care is provided and continued in route to a definitive care facility. Essential Functions: Presents self in a professional manner and maintains a good public image for the employee and Falck USA, in accordance with company policy. Adheres to the policies and procedures of Falck USA, including operating SOPs and Medical Protocols. Completes daily assignments proficiently, punctually, and per directives of the Field Supervisor, General Manager, and management team. Completes documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures. Creates a safe environment and ensures equipment for patients, families, visitors, and staff; assesses risks to patient safety. Operates the emergency vehicle in a safe manner at all times. Maintains vehicles and stations in a clean, presentable condition. Responds to dispatcher instructions and drives specially equipped emergency vehicles to locations. Develops and strives to achieve personal and professional goals using available resources. Maintains communications equipment, medical equipment, and supplies per standards. May conduct inter-facility transfer (IFT) transports in addition to 911 responses. Additional Duties: May serve as team lead to EMTs. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by management. Required qualifications include: High School Diploma or GED Current State of CO Paramedic Card ACLS PALS Current American Heart Association CPR for the Healthcare Provider Satisfactory driving record per Falck USA policy IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-5A courses from FEMA Other qualifications specific to the local operation and/or contract Excellent communication and customer service skills Ability to work cooperatively with others to provide high-level patient care Physical ability to perform EMT duties (bending/stooping, lifting, climbing, etc.; must pass company physical assessments) Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to serve diverse customers Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Professional appearance and demeanor Clinical Requirements The clinical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met to perform the essential functions of this job. Provide Basic Life Support Care and Transport as part of an emergency medical team, within scope of practice and medical direction Assess nature and extent of illness or injury; develop and execute patient care plans Monitor patient conditions and responses to care Communicate with medical personnel interagency and at treatment facilities Obtain instructions, arrange for reception of patients, and assist with Advanced Life Support as directed Complete patient care reports per Falck USA and regulatory standards Assist facilities and personnel in recording patient information and vital statistics Acknowledge accountability for all patient care provided Environmental and Physical Demands The Paramedic regularly works outside and is exposed to weather, hazardous materials, infectious waste, and other conditions typical of health care settings. Work may involve near moving mechanical parts, fumes, loud noises, flashing lights, and other hazards. Ability to work in a safe environment with or without reasonable accommodation is required. Where appropriate, work is performed in well-lit, ventilated settings.
