As a Clinical Pharmacist, you’ll play a critical role at the intersection of clinical excellence, patient advocacy, and pharmacy operations. This is more than dispensing medication—it’s about driving safety and quality, and supporting patients through some of the most complex therapies available today. The Clinical Pharmacist serves as the clinical and operational team player for an assigned patient care team. You will ensure safe, compliant, and compassionate pharmacy operations while acting as a trusted clinical resource for patients, caregivers, clinicians, and internal partners. And most importantly, you’ll ensure every patient receives the highest standard of care. Shift – onsite at the Shepherdsville, KY, Monday through Friday 9 – 6pm. No evenings or weekends. Target comp: $60 – $65 per hour with eligibility for a 5% MIP bonus. What You’ll Do Clinical – Patient Care Conduct a comprehensive clinical review of pharmacotherapy for each patient including drug utilization, counseling, compliance, drug interaction screening, side effect profiling and drug administration support to ensure the patient’s treatment plan is in line with evidence-based recommendations. Document results of pharmacotherapy review in patient chart so that the nursing team performing follow-up assessments are aware and educated. Counsel patients on new drug therapy in accordance with clinical management models so that patients are educated on the specifics of their planned treatment. Complete REMS training and follow program SOPs accordingly. Coordinate patient care with the referring clinician, including but not limited to, social, psychological and physical needs that warrant customized services by Biologics Inc. (i.e. pre-filled syringes, color coded labeling for medication identification, etc.) and document these services in their progress note so that the fulfillment and distribution teams are aware of additional materials to add. Serve as a liaison between patients, caregivers, home health agency nurses, hospice nurses, and the prescribing physician/clinician for orders related to the services provided by Biologics Inc. to ensure all stakeholders receive outstanding customer service. Provide subcutaneous teaching support for patients and caregivers. If necessary, coordinate adequate nursing services with the prescribing clinician. Provide on-call coverage at direction of Pharmacist-in-Charge so that patient’s needs are met outside of operational hours. Process prescriptions accurately and timely so that subsequent groups are satisfied. Verify the discontinuation of service for each patient by assigning the appropriate therapy outcome and deactivate the patient’s chart, prescriptions and software profile as appropriate so that the Patient Support group is informed to discontinue future refills. Implement clinical management models for products and disease states. Serve as the primary intake for all new team referrals initiated by telephone. Commit to outstanding customer service as defined by Biologics’ internal policies. Understand the importance of relationship building with patients and clinicians and work to foster such relationships. Operations Strict adherence to company policy as it relates to all government funded payers, specifically Medicaid and Medicare. Dispense all medication pursuant to a physician’s order and in accordance with all state, federal and board of pharmacy laws. Comply with all company policies specifically as they relate to pharmacy operations. Adhere to federal and state laws regarding the purchase and dispensing of controlled substances. Verify accuracy of prescription order entry so that errors or discrepancies are corrected early in the workflow, making the process more efficient for other groups. Verify accuracy and quality assurance check of final prescription product dispensed. Assist pharmacy technicians in adjudication of pharmacy claims to ensure accurate payment is communicated and collected. Monitor hazardous waste material management within the pharmacy. Understand and supervise the aseptic technique of pharmacy personnel. Oversee pharmacy technicians. Utilize patient education materials effectively. Perform intake of and ensure appropriate reporting of adverse events and product quality complaints as applicable and in accordance with regulatory and contractual obligations. Oversee Cell and Gene dispensing processes and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as well as manufacturer requirements. Professional Meet or exceed current CE requirements pursuant to Board of Pharmacy Laws. Support professional development goals of staff within the assigned patient care team. Maintain an attitude of constant learning and ensure self-education within the pharmacy arena. Attend conferences with peers and report on topics discussed at staff meetings. What You Bring Required Qualifications PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy. Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in Kentucky. Minimum 4+ years of post-graduate pharmacist experience. Multistate licensure or willingness to obtain additional state licenses (including TX, NC, MA, VA, and others). Shift – onsite at the Shepherdsville, KY, Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm. No evenings or weekends. Preferred Qualifications Experience in specialty pharmacy, complex therapies, or patient care management. Comfort working in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
