This position is responsible for washing and sanitizing dishes, cookware, and kitchen equipment, maintaining cleanliness throughout food service areas, supporting kitchen operations, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards. The Dishwasher helps create an environment where quality meals can be prepared efficiently and safely for New Freedom members, staff, and guests. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, takes pride in cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail, understands the importance of food safety and sanitation, works well independently and as part of a team, is dependable, hardworking, and willing to support overall kitchen operations.What You'll Be Responsible ForWashing, sanitizing, sorting, and storing dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Maintaining a clean, organized, and clutter-free dishwashing area. Keeping kitchen floors, storage areas, and workspaces clean and safe throughout each shift. Following food safety, sanitation, and health code requirements. Changing dishwashing water and maintaining proper chemical dilution standards. Assisting with receiving and storing food deliveries. Managing trash removal and maintaining organized storage areas. Safely handling cleaning chemicals and following Safety Data Sheet (SDS) guidelines.What Success Looks LikeKitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils are consistently clean, sanitized, and ready for service. Kitchen and dishwashing areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with health regulations. Food safety and sanitation standards are maintained at all times. Kitchen operations run smoothly because supplies, equipment, and work areas are properly maintained. Team members receive dependable support during busy meal service periods.What We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or GED. Minimum one year of kitchen or food service experience. Valid Food Handler's Certification (can obtain after hire). Strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift 30–50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Strong commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and workplace safety. Experience working in healthcare, hospitality, residential, or institutional food service settings preferred. CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Crisis de-escalation certification (Safety Care, CPI, or equivalent) preferred.Environment + Physical DemandsThis position operates in a fast-paced kitchen and food service environment supporting daily meal operations. Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion activities. Regular use of commercial dishwashing equipment, cleaning supplies, and kitchen tools. Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 30 pounds, with some tasks requiring 30–50 pounds. Frequent exposure to water, cleaning solutions, food service equipment, and changing kitchen temperatures.
