Become Part of a New National Initiative Supporting Veterans (Internal or Family Medicine Trained)
The West Los Angeles VA Medical Center is on the lookout for a Full-Time Primary or Family Care Physician to join the newly formed National Center for Warrior Independence (NCWI). This role presents a unique chance to deliver comprehensive outpatient care to Veterans while contributing to the growth of an innovative national VA program dedicated to serving this population.
Key Responsibilities:Deliver thorough outpatient primary and acute care services.
Oversee chronic disease management and offer preventive healthcare solutions.
Conduct patient history assessments, physical examinations, diagnoses, treatments, consultations, and emergency care.
Provide same-day care and support for other Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) providers.
Collaborate effectively with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and community organizations.
Keep precise patient records and treatment plans.
Engage in quality assurance and process enhancement activities.
Support VA performance metrics, systems redesign, and advanced access initiatives.
Work alongside supervisory and frontline staff to enhance clinic operations and Veteran care.
The physician in this position will play a vital role in national, VISN, and local quality and process improvement efforts, including performance metrics, systems redesign, and advanced clinical access projects. Collaboration with supervisory and frontline staff across various service lines will be essential to enhance clinic operations, access, continuity of care, and the overall healthcare experience for Veterans.
What Makes This Role Unique:This position not only allows for direct Veteran care but also enables participation in the establishment of a new national VA initiative at West Los Angeles. The blend of clinical practice, interdisciplinary teamwork, and involvement in system-wide quality and access initiatives makes this role more expansive than conventional outpatient primary care.
Qualifications:MD or equivalent degree.
Board Certified or Board Eligible.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Possession of a current, full, and unrestricted medical license.
Board Certification or Eligibility is required.
Salary Range: $265,000 - $310,000.
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days annually (including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, and 11 holidays).
Malpractice coverage: Free liability protection with tail coverage included.
