Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position on the Thoracic/Vascular team, requiring thoracic/vascular experience and prior travel experience.

Details

Work in a 1000+ bed hospital's OR Float Pool, specifically the Thoracic/Vascular team

56-bed OR (inpatient and outpatient) plus 5 procedural rooms in a Level 1 trauma facility

Adult patient population only; no pediatrics (separate Children's Hospital OR)

Case types include neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary

Diagnoses include transplant, trauma, and neuro cases

12-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 36 hours per week

Schedule varies based on unit need; no block schedule available

Late stay coverage required based on unit needs, up to four late stays during a 13-week period

May float between OR units but not between facility locations

Requirements

Active RN license (TN or Compact) required on file at time of consideration

Minimum of 2 years OR experience required

Thoracic/vascular experience required

Scrub experience required; must be proficient in endovascular cases for both circulating and scrub roles

Relevant specialty certification required and must be on file at time of consideration

Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

Provide circulating and scrub support for thoracic/vascular surgical cases

Time off is limited during this assignment; expected to work 2 of the 3 major holidays

Orientation start dates are limited to specific dates, with a 26-week commitment required

Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within a 75-mile radius
