Guest Service Agent - PM Shift

Job Summary The Guest Services Agent (GSA) consistently delivers results that enhance the hotel’s mission by managing front‑desk operations, guest interactions, and support for the Operations Manager. Responsibilities Deliver Sonesta Service standards in all guest and client interactions. Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room locations. Answer phones promptly and courteously. Accurately process cash and credit card transactions, maintain security, and prepare deposit and cashier reports. Book, cancel, and modify reservations for individuals and groups, and up‑sell rooms to maximize revenue. Follow seasonal demand reservation strategy as communicated by management. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departments. Service the shoppe and the pour, ensuring compliance with local alcohol laws. Fulfill guest special requests and manage delivery of guest services. Issue, control, and release guest safe‑deposit boxes. Comply with federal, state, and local health, safety, and alcohol laws. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required). One year of previous hotel experience or retail customer‑service experience (preferred). Experience in the extended‑stay industry preferred. Fluent spoken, read, and written English (other languages beneficial). Professional verbal and written communication skills. Basic mathematical skills, including budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances. Problem‑solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities. Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems. Required to obtain a ServSafe certification; TIPS certification may be required. Valid driver’s license. Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, move, lift or pull items up to 50 pounds, and handle equipment. Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Pay range: $22–$23.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
