Human Resources Generalist – AMSOIL Headquarters (Superior, WI) AMSOIL INC. is hiring for a Human Resources Generalist at our AMSOIL Headquarters location in Superior, WI. We are looking for a highly collaborative, people-focused Human Resources Generalist who takes pride in building trusted partnerships, ensuring compliance and consistency, and creating a positive, high-performing workplace culture. As a trusted advisor, you will support talent development, employee engagement, and employee relations while helping managers navigate challenges and drive team success. By building strong partnerships across the organization, ensuring compliance with HR policies and practices, and developing a deep understanding of the business and its culture, you will help create a positive workplace experience that supports both employee growth and organizational success. Scheduled hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm What you will own Employee Relations Leading the successful integration of HR systems, processes, and employee programs for newly acquired businesses, helping create a seamless employee experience and a strong foundation for future growth. Building strong productive partnerships with union representatives to support workplace safety, positive working conditions, and effective grievance resolutions while fostering a collaborative labor‑management relationship. Coaching and supporting managers and employees on performance, communication, and professional development, helping teams overcome challenges and perform at their best. Partnering with leaders to conduct fair, thorough, and objective workplace investigations that reinforce trust, accountability, and a positive work environment. Guiding managers through the annual performance reviews and merit increase process to ensure evaluations are accurate, consistent, and aligned with organizational goals. Collaborating with hiring managers and the HR team to attract, hire, and successfully onboard top talent, helping new employees feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success. Designing and delivering impactful training programs that support employee growth, strengthen capabilities, and foster continuous learning across the organization. Leveraging insights from employee exit interviews to identify trends, uncover opportunities for improvement, and drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement and retention. Serving as a trusted and responsive resource for employees by providing timely support, guidance, and solutions to workplace questions and concerns. Policies and Compliance Helping ensure the organization remains compliant with local, state, and federal employment laws while promoting HR best practices that support both employees and the business. Leading cross‑functional partnerships with Human Resources, Legal, IT, Safety, and external experts to ensure policies, the Employee Handbook, and related communications remain accurate, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals while promoting employee awareness and accountability. Advising leaders on the consistent interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures while staying current on evolving employment laws and regulatory requirements to support compliant, informed decision‑making and reduce organizational risk across talent management, organizational design, and workforce planning. Working closely with Human Resources, Legal, Safety, and Finance to support workers' compensation programs, compliance efforts, and positive outcomes for employees and the organization. Support of other HR Department Initiatives Supporting the execution of HR strategic initiatives by coordinating and contributing to key projects that advance organizational goals and enhance the employee experience. Identifying opportunities for process improvement across HR and business operations, helping to streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and strengthen overall effectiveness. Driving special projects and initiatives from concept through completion, ensuring timely execution and meaningful impact for the organization. Providing thoughtful input and partnership on organizational design efforts, including business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning to support long‑term business needs and talent alignment. What you bring Education and Experience At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in Human Resources, with a solid foundation in supporting employees, leaders, and HR programs. A Bachelor's degree (BS/BA), preferably with a focus in Human Resources or a related field. A well‑rounded understanding of key HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, employee relations, organizational development, performance management, employment law, and workers' compensation, with the ability to connect these areas to real‑world business needs. Professional HR certification such as SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, PHR, or SPHR is preferred. Legal authorization to work in the US. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong coaching and consulting skills, with a proven ability to guide employees and leaders through complex, sensitive, or challenging situations with sound judgement and professionalism. Deep working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices, along with a commitment to staying current and proactively researching emerging issues and trends. A collaborative, relationship‑focused approach that builds trust and credibility with supervisors, colleagues, and business partners at all levels of the organization. Experience supporting recruiting efforts, including developing creative sourcing strategies to attract and engage candidates across a variety of roles and levels. The ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment by effectively prioritizing work, managing multiple responsibilities, and adapting to changing business needs with a strong sense of urgency and service. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, paired with strong critical thinking abilities to assess situations and deliver effective HR solutions. A high level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating ethical conduct in all interactions. Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal—with the ability to present information clearly, influence others, and communicate in a professional, respectful, and customer‑focused manner. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, taking ownership of responsibilities while contributing effectively as part of a team with minimal supervision.
