Lead Paramedic - Critical Care Transport - FT

Work Shift: 12 Hours - Varied Shifts. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36. Compensation: Salary Range: $25.20 - $38.50. This position may be eligible for a Sign On Bonus! Summary Lead Paramedics help provide advanced medical care to patients. Individuals must have the complex knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Responsibilities Assist and give direction to additional EMS Responders at the scene and/or during transport. Serve as the key contact for EMS while on scene and provide support for management and staff. Monitor productivity and track Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Assist management in EMS Operations, including regulations, licensing, staffing, staff education, equipment maintenance, finance and quality assurance. Act as a formal resource for the EMS staff. Assist with patient care in the receiving facility and perform lifting and moving of patients as required. Perform physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials. Attend training classes to maintain national certification, state licensure and stay abreast of new developments in the field. Provide a welcoming and educational environment for students and complete any academic assessments in a timely manner. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in Paramedic Technology or Paramedicine preferred. Minimum of two years of experience as a paramedic in an ambulance setting. Thorough knowledge of paramedic principles, practices and techniques, and how equipment such as a monitor or defibrillator works and how to troubleshoot problems. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and national registry status at the paramedic level; state license if required. Additional licensure: Paramedic (PAR) certification, National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, and 700 completed and ongoing education hours as mandated by accreditation. Preferred certifications: Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
