Job Description
The Precision Optics Technician plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of high-quality optical components. Working within a medium-sized team, this technician focuses on prototype development, production line manufacturing, and custom optical systems. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the role involves hands-on tasks to ensure precision and quality in all optics-related processes with opportunities for growth into technical specialist or cross-functional team positions.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspections on optical components to meet stringent standards
- Maintain and calibrate precision equipment used in optics fabrication
- Document processes, test results, and maintenance activities accurately
- Setup specialized equipment for grinding, polishing, and testing optical elements
- Conduct rigorous testing procedures to validate optical performance
- Troubleshoot issues in optical fabrication and calibration processes
- Execute grinding and polishing techniques to achieve required optical finishes
Preferred Qualifications
- No prior experience required; comprehensive training provided
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with optical metrology and precision measurement techniques
- Knowledge of microscopy and calibration methods
- Strong understanding of quality control practices
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Adherence to safety protocols in a manufacturing environment
