About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified CVICU RN in New Brunswick, New Jersey, 08904!

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill cardiac surgery patients, including fresh post-op cases such as CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
• Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, IV insulin protocols, continuous IV paralytics, neuromuscular blockade, and sedation
• Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic and mechanical support devices including Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax
• Perform and oversee ventilator management, chest tube care, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABGs, and suctioning
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKGs, FloTrac/Vigileo readings, and temporary pacer function
• Float within skillset to all ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units as needed

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU experience (SICU experience may be considered if initial training was completed in a CVICU)
• Must have hands-on experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
• Must have experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax
• EPIC charting experience required
• Locals accepted

• Experience with hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun and lumbar drain management
• Background in CVVHD/CRRT, CVA/acute stroke care, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Familiarity with post-op open heart recovery and ventricular assist device (VAD) management
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring

• Work within a high-acuity, nationally recognized cardiac surgery program at a 628-bed academic Level I Trauma Center affiliated with a major university, caring for complex patients including heart transplant, VAD, TAVR, and ECMO cases
• First-time travelers are welcome, offering an excellent opportunity to gain experience in one of the most comprehensive cardiovascular programs in the region
