Non-Profit Audit Supervisor

Progressive accounting firm seeks an Audit Supervisor with a focus on non-profit organizations in West Los Angeles, CA. This role offers a clear path to Director level and a balanced work life in a hybrid environment.The Supervisor acts as the primary point of contact between the Partner, client, and team members. They oversee multiple audit and accounting projects simultaneously, manage staffing, and coordinate workflow. Additionally, Supervisors provide training, develop staff, and contribute to business development efforts.DutiesManage all phases of audit and review engagements on multiple projectsMaintain regular communication with clients, understand their business and control systems, and build strong relationshipsKeep the Director or Partner informed of important developments and recommend solutions for potential issuesDemonstrate technical proficiency, maintain work quality, and apply professional standardsEnsure proper scheduling of engagementsUnderstand and follow the firm's audit approachCreate, track, and adhere to budgets for engagements, investigating and explaining budget overrunsIdentify problem areas in engagements and anticipate questionsReview financial statements and other deliverablesSupervise, train, and review work of senior and staff accountantsContribute to staff performance evaluations and counselingParticipate in business development effortsRequirementsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related fieldAt least five years of public accounting experience, specifically auditing non-profit clientsCurrent CPA licensePreferred Qualifications:Effective team leader and team playerAbility to prioritize and meet deadlines efficientlyThorough knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standardsResponsive to feedback and coachingExperience training and directing staffJob ConditionsHybrid work environment with flexibility to work from home, office, or client locationsSame-day travel to clients, meetings, and seminarsOccasional overnight travel for out-of-town client visits, meetings, or seminars
