Research Assistant Professor

Job Title Faculty, Biomedical Sciences – Microbiology / Immunology Location Macon, GA 31207; additional potential locations may be considered. Responsibilities Teach an integrated pre‑clerkship medical school curriculum, including case‑based and team‑based learning. Develop and implement large‑group interactive learning sessions and assessment items. Participate in curriculum development across medical and graduate programs. Engage in scholarly activities, community‑oriented research, and service to the department and school. Serve on departmental, school‑wide, or other committees as designated. Perform additional duties during the summer as assigned. Qualifications Terminal degree (M.D. or Ph.D.) in an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution. Strong record of scholarly activity and evidence of medical or graduate teaching expertise in Microbiology and/or Immunology. Experience with health professions education and active learning methods. Experience independently developing learning resources, facilitating large‑group interactive sessions, and creating assessment items. Experience facilitating small‑group interdisciplinary case‑based learning in a pre‑clerkship medical curriculum. Associate or Full Professor candidates: strong record of large‑ and small‑group teaching in a medical school setting. Expected to engage broadly in both medical and graduate curricula, scholarship, and committee service.
