Custodian Position at Guy E. Rowe Elementary SchoolThe Oxford Hills School District is accepting applications for a Custodian for Guy E. Rowe Elementary School. This position is under the Oxford Hills Educational Support Personnel Association. MSAD #17 offers a robust employee benefits package for full-time employees, including health insurance with 80% of the premium paid by the employer (with up to 100% if both spouses work in the district), dental, vision, Group Life Insurance; flexible spending and dependent care accounts; 403(b) retirement plan eligibility; and 12 paid sick days per year.The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within Oxford Hills School District facilities. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with the ability to perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, operate cleaning equipment, and handle cleaning chemicals safely. Essential duties and responsibilities include:Performing routine and heavy cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming floors.Gathering and emptying trash and recycling.Scrubbing, sanitizing, and supplying restroom facilities.Dusting furniture, walls, and equipment.Cleaning windows, mirrors, and partitions.Cleaning and polishing fixtures and furniture.Shampooing or steam-cleaning carpets and rugs.Operating cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers, safely and effectively.Mixing cleaning solutions and chemicals according to instructions and safety guidelines.Managing inventory of cleaning supplies and notifying the Head Custodian of needed supplies.Checking for and reporting unsafe conditions in assigned areas/buildings.Following District procedures and regulations for maintaining a safe and efficient school environment.Adhering to occupational hazards and safety rules.Supporting the District's mission and goals.Assisting in requisitioning cleaning equipment and supplies.Assisting in requesting repairs.Removing snow and ice as assigned by the Assistant Facilities Director, or Facilities Director.Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive motions for long periods.
